Schmidt represents Panthers with First Team selection for 2014
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting goalkeeper on the Plymouth State University women's soccer team was recognized Tuesday with selection to the 2014 All-Little East Conference Team, as voted by the LEC's eight head coaches.
Sophomore Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H./Newmarket) was named to the All-LEC First Team at goalkeeper. She helped the Panthers to a 5-13 overall record this season and sixth place in the LEC with a 2-5 mark, earning a spot in the LEC post-season tournament for the first time in three years.
A 5'10" sophomore, Schmidt started in goal every game for PSU, ranking second in the LEC in total saves (171) and leading the conference with a .834 save percentage. She posted double-digit saves in 11 of her 18 contests, and recorded shutouts over Western New England University, the University of Southern Maine and Rhode Island College. Schmidt is ranked 13th in the nation in Division III in total saves and 23rd in saves per game.
