Panthers drop non-conference match-up
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Senior Becca Rees (Framingham, Mass.) and sophomore Katie Kreider (Boxford, Mass.) tallied two goals and one assist each Sunday afternoon as Hamilton College defeated Plymouth State University, 6-0, in non-conference women's soccer action at Arold Field.
Rees scored a pair of first-half goals to help the Continentals to a 3-0 halftime lead, and Kreider added a pair of second-half strikes to round out the scoring. Hamilton evened its record at 5-5-3 overall, while PSU fell to 5-6.
Also scoring for the Continentals were junior Ali Clarke (Evergreen, Colo.) in the first half, and freshman Katie McKillop (Aquebogue, N.Y.) early in the second half.
Hamilton recorded a 26-2 advantage in shots for the game. Sophomore goaltenders Rachel Cooley (Branchburg, N.J.) and Emily Dumont (North Andover, Mass.) each played 45 minutes, with Dumont making the only two saves in the second half.
PSU junior keeper Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H.) came off the bench and made 10 saves while allowing three goals in 73 minutes of action.
Plymouth State is back in action Wednesday with a non-conference game at New England College (7:00 p.m.) Hamilton returns home to host Colby Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
