Schmidt opens season for Panthers with consecutive shutouts
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The starting goalkeeper on the Plymouth State University women's soccer team was recognized by the Little East Conference Monday as the first round of weekly conference honors was announced.
Senior Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H.) was named LEC Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week. She helped PSU to a 1-0-1 record last week with back-to-back shutouts. The Panthers defeated Lyndon State 6-0 and tied Castleton State 0-0 in double overtime. Schmidt was in the net for 200:00 minutes and recorded four saves.
Schmidt is a two-time First Team All-Conference selection and was Third Team All-New England last season by the New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association.
Schmidt and the Panthers, 1-0-1, are back in action this Wednesday, Sept. 7, in a non-conference road match-up at Salem State University.
