Panthers earn Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – United Soccer Coaches announced its annual Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award recipients for the fall season and the Plymouth State University women's soccer team was among those recognized.

The Team Ethics and Sportsmanship Award is presented to United Soccer Coaches members at four levels. Teams earning the Platinum Award went the entire season without a player or coach receiving a yellow card or red card. Teams are also honored at the Gold (1-10%), Silver (11-30%) and Bronze (31-50%) levels, based on a percentage calculated by the total number of cards received by players/coaches divided by the team's total number of games played. Plymouth State was honored with the Gold Award.

The Panthers finished the season with a 7-9 overall record and a 1-6 mark in the Little East Conference under fourth-year head coach Ryan Joy. PSU and Rhode Island College entered the final game of the regular season knowing the winner would take home a playoff spot, but the Anchorwomen were able to deny the Panthers by a slim 2-0 margin.

A complete list of recognized teams is available on the United Soccer Coaches website, unitedsoccercoaches.org.
