Lloyd named Offensive Player of the Week
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After helping lead the Plymouth State University women's soccer team to a big win over Rhode Island College, junior Mallory Lloyd (Hartland, Vt.) has earned Little East Conference (LEC) weekly recognition by being named the Offensive Player of the Week.
Lloyd scored a hat trick, including the game winning goal, and added three assists in Plymouth State's 7-2 win over RIC on Saturday. She played a part in each of PSU's first six goals, tying the game at 1-1 with her tally in the 15th minute, then giving the Panthers the lead for good 17 minutes later. She completed her second career hat trick in the 58th minute.
After being held off the scoresheet in the Panthers' first three games, Lloyd has scored ten goals in the last eight games and currently leads both the PSU and the LEC in assists. Her ten goals lead the team and are good enough for the third-most in the Little East, behind two players who have played in four more games. Over the course of the season Lloyd has amassed 26 points, the third-most in the LEC, and she has found the back of the net in each of her last seven starts.
PSU (6-6-0, 3-1-0 LEC) has a pair of conference matches this week. The Panthers will host Keene State on Wednesday (Oct. 16) for a 3:30 p.m. start, before visiting WestConn for a 12:00 p.m. contest on Saturday (Oct. 19).
