Win over Regis improves PSC to 2-1
WESTON, Mass. - Plymouth State College improved its women's swimming and diving record to 2-1 Wednesday, defeating Regis College 163-123. The Panthers captured 10 of the meet's 16 events, including both relays and both diving events.
Three Plymouth State individuals captured first place in two events each. Sophomore Scarlette Scarborough (Salem, N.H.) captured the 100 yard butterfly (1:05.78) and 100 yard backstroke (1:08.31), junior Andrea Boutilier (Chicopee, Mass.) finished first in the 50 yard (27.24) and 100 yard freestyle (1:01.21), and sophomore Krit Kearins (Andover, Mass.) placed first in the one-meter voluntary (149.65) and one-meter optional (168.25) diving events. Senior Amy Bernier (Bristol, Conn.) was the winner for PSC in the 200 yard freestyle (2:11.80), and freshman Ann Winters (Chester, N.H.) took the 500 free (6:11.01).
The Panthers also won both the 200 medley and 200 free relays. After five meets on the road to start the season, Plymouth State competes in the home opener this Saturday (Dec. 8), hosting Norwich University at the PSC Natatorium (1:00 p.m.).
