Panthers dunk Norwich in opener

MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Plymouth State College women's swimming and diving team captured its season opener Saturday, defeating Norwich University146-28 in a dual meet held at Middlebury College. PSC took nine of the 12 events to easily defeat the Cadets.

Three Panther swimmers won two events apiece. Junior Annabelle Winters (Chester, N.H.) placed first in the 500 yard freestyle (5:49.85) and the 1000 yard freestyle (11:58.83), junior Scarlette Scarborough (Salem, N.H.) finished first in the 100 yard butterfly (1:06.70) and 100 yard backstroke (1:09.33), and junior Caitlin O'Connor (Rochester, N.H.) won the 50 yard free (27.85) and the 200 yard free (2:13.07).

Other Panthers that captured individual events included senior Andrea Boutilier (Chicopee, Mass.) in the 50 yard backstroke (34.23), freshman Tessa Ferrario (Waterbury, Vt.) in the 50 yard breaststroke (37.69) and junior Becky Huntington (Hampstead, N.H.) in the three-meter diving (178.80).

The Panthers return home for their first two meets at the PSC Natatorium -- Wednesday (Nov. 20) against Salem State (6:00 p.m.) and next Saturday (Nov. 23) vs. Regis University (1:00 p.m.).
