PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the freshman divers on the Plymouth State University women's swimming and diving team was recognized Monday with a weekly honor from the Little East Conference.
Freshman Nora Regan (West Hartford, Conn./Northwest Catholic) was named LEC Women's Diving Rookie of the Week. It is the first time a PSU diver has been honored this season by the LEC.
A first-year diver, Regan (right) won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events Saturday in Plymouth State's 146-126 upset victory over UMass Dartmouth. Although uncontested, she recorded strong scores of 168.90 points on the one-meter board and a season-best 182.35 points on three-meter.
Regan's highest scoring dives were a reverse dive in the straight position on one-meter, where she received scores of "6.5" from the judges, and a back dive in the straight position on three-meter, where she received scores of "6", "6.5" and "7.5".
After competing in the final dual meet of the season this Saturday at Simmons College (12:00 p.m.), Regan will join a contingent of PSU swimmers that have qualified for the annual New England Championships on Feb. 20-22 at UMass Dartmouth.
