PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- The Plymouth State University women's swimming and diving team finished in fifth place Saturday afternoon at the annual Little East Conference Championships, hosted by the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
Keene State College set 12 championship meet records en route to sweeping all 16 events, capturing its fourth straight team championship with 535 points. Eastern Connecticut State University finished runner-up with 303 points, followed by host UMass Dartmouth with 259, Western Connecticut State University with 221 and PSU with 153.
Sophomore Nicole Brodeur (Claremont, N.H./Vermont Academy) was the top performer for PSU with top finishes in three individual events, with three season-best times. She took third place in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:04.03, fifth in the 100 free in 57.65, and seventh in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.02.
Other top Panther finishes came from senior Caitlin Little (Scituate, Mass.), who placed fourth in the 50 yard freestyle in a season-fastest 25.90 seconds, and senior Elise Innis (Harpswell, Maine), who finished seventh in the 100 free in a season-best 59.03. Sophomore Tiffany Sweeney (Pembroke, N.H./Manchester Central) placed sixth in the one-meter diving in her collegiate debut.
PSU closes out the first semester of action next Saturday with a dual meet at Westfied State College (1:00 p.m.).
