PSU Diver finishes fifth in three-meter at NEISDA Champs.
Rogers earns All-New England for Panthers
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University junior Shannon Rogers (Beverly, Mass.) earned All-New England honors Sunday with a fifth-place in the three-meter diving event as part of the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships held at the PSU Natatorium.
Making her first career appearance on the three-meter board at the New England championships, Rogers scored 322.35 points for her 11 dives to wind up in fifth place. She was less than a point ahead of Keene State College freshman Shannon Summers (321.90) and eight points behind Roger Williams University sophomore Jayleene West (330.35). Westfield State University sophomore Katie Sterpka captured the three-meter title with 426.35 points after winning the one-meter championship on Saturday.
Rogers' top scoring dives were a forward dive pike, an inward dive pike, and a forward dive with a half twist.
The weekend diving scores were added to the swimming scores from last weekend's championships at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Jct., Vt. Keene State captured both the men's and women's team titles, while Plymouth State remained in 14th place in the women's standings.
