Panthers finish dual meets with 7-3 record, best mark since 2009-10
NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Plymouth State University women's swimming and diving finished the dual meet season Friday afternoon with a 130-119 victory over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth at the Tripp Athletic Center Pool.
The Panthers wind up with a 7-3 record in dual meets, the team's best record since going 7-2 in 2009-10. UMass Dartmouth finishes its dual meets at 2-7.
PSU had four swimmers who captured two individual events apiece. Freshman Deanne DeGrazia (Westport, Mass.) won the 200-yard free in 2:08.89, and the 500-yard free in 5:58.65; sophomore Addie Schumaker (Haymarket, Va.) took first place in the 50-yard breaststroke in 35.20 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in a season-best 1:09.04; freshman Julia Mazza (Belchertown, Mass.) touched the wall first in the 100-yard free (1:00.31) and 50-yard fly (28.93 seconds); and freshman Julia West (Wiscasset, Maine) brought home first place in the 50-yard backstroke (30.27 seconds) and the 50-yard freestyle.
West, Schumaker, Mazza and DeGrazia also teamed up together to win the first race, the 200-yard medley relay in 2:02.62.
Plymouth State will return to UMass Dartmouth next Saturday, Jan. 30, for the Little East Conference Championships.
