Allaire named First Team for 3-Meter Diving, Second Team 1-Meter Diving
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Little East Conference (LEC) announced its Women's Swimming and Diving All-Conference teams and Plymouth State University sophomore Casey Allaire (Mattapoisett, Mass.) was one of the student-athletes to be honored.
Allaire was named to the All-LEC First Team in 3-meter diving and earned All-LEC Second Team honors in 1-meter diving. The All-Conference teams honor student-athletes based on their performance at the LEC Championship meet.
Allaire has had a sensational sophomore year. She won the 3-meter diving title at the LEC Championships and earned a second place finish on the 1-meter board on Saturday. She earned first place finishes in every 3-meter competition she's entered this season and finished in the top spot in all but one contest on the 1-meter board.
Along the way Allaire has set program records on both boards, scoring 257.55 on the 1-meter board in a dual meet at Colby-Sawyer College in Nov., and accumulating 268.05 points on the 3-meter board earlier this month in a dual meet at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.
The winner of LEC Rookie Diver of the Year last fall will look to defend her titles at both heights at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) championships at the University of Rhode Island from Feb. 16-18.
The LEC major award recipients will be announced next week following a vote of the league's head coaches.
