Panthers set to begin a new era under Anne Barbeau
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – With a new leader in place for the first time in 28 years, the Plymouth State University women's swimming and diving team is gearing up for the 2018-19 season. New head coach Anne Barbeau unveiled the team's upcoming schedule today.
Plymouth State will kick off the Barbeau-era at the annual Louise Goodrum Invitational, hosted by UMass Dartmouth on Nov. 3 (12:00 p.m.). The Panthers open the home slate when Colby-Sawyer comes to town for a dual meet on Nov. 9 (4:00 p.m.), and PSU wraps up November with a double dual at Western New England on Nov. 17 (1:00 p.m.), where the Panthers will also swim against Eastern Connecticut State.
PSU will host a pair of dual meets in December, starting with Rhode Island College on Dec. 1 (1:00 p.m.). The Panthers will welcome Westfield State to the PSU Natatorium a week later (Dec. 8, 1:00 p.m.) to wrap up the fall semester.
Plymouth State travels to the University of St. Joseph's (Conn.) on Jan. 11 (3:30 p.m.), before traveling to Maine Maritime for a double dual with Western Connecticut State on Jan. 16 (5:00 p.m.). The Panthers close out the regular season with a Senior Day meet against UMass Dartmouth on Jan. 26.
UMass Dartmouth will host the Little East Conference (LEC) Championships on Feb. 9 (1:00 p.m.), then the Panthers will have two weeks to prepare for the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships at MIT. Junior Casey Allaire (Mattapoisett, Mass.) has won the last four New England diving titles, sweeping the 1-meter and 3-meter events in both 2017 and 2018.
