Turell selected as Swimmer of the Week
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After helping Plymouth State sweep its dual meet against Eastern Connecticut State University and Western New England University on Saturday, junior Cammie Turell (Bowie, Md.) has earned Little East Conference (LEC) weekly recognition by being named the Swimmer of the Week.
Turell won three individual events and was part of a winning relay team as Plymouth State swept the competition on Saturday, topping WNEU by a 36-119 margin and besting the host-Warriors 147-107. Turell posted the top times in the 50-yard backstroke (32.82), 50-yard freestyle (26.66) and 50-yard butterfly (29.00), while taking the third leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay team that finished in 2:04.83.
Turell's junior season has started off great as she is unbeaten in individual events at dual meets thus far. Along with the three wins she picked up this week she also took first place in the 50-yard freestyle (25.97) and 50-yard butterfly (28.37) last week at Colby-Sawyer.
The Panthers are back in the pool for their home opener against Albertus Magnus on Friday (Nov. 22) starting at 5:00 p.m.
