PSU Swimming & Diving athletes earn NEISDA academic honors

Eleven Panthers named to Fall All-Academic Team 

            PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Eleven members of the Plymouth State University women's swimming and diving team were honored by the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) when the group announced its 2019 Fall All-Academic Team.

            Receiving the honor for the Panthers were senior Casey Allaire (Mattapoisett, Mass.), junior Sylvie Donnell (Warren, N.H.), sophomores Heather Gebhardt (Amherst, N.H.), Julia Hollinger (Bow, N.H.), Liz O'Sullivan (Bow, N.H.), Gabby Rowe (Harpswell, Maine), Madelin Svetin (Topsham, Maine) and Ellie Wilson (Darnestown, Md.) and freshmen MacKenzie Brady (Rochester, N.H.), Maddie Gifford (West Ossipee, N.H.) and Jessica McGregor (New Boston, N.H.).

            For a swimmer or diver to be eligible for the All-Academic Team, the student-athlete must have had a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher for the fall semester. A total of 193 student-athletes from 21 women's teams and 15 men's teams earned the honor. Plymouth State and Roger Williams each had 11 student-athletes earn the honor, the third-most behind Simmons University (20) and the University of New England (12).

            Plymouth State is back in the pool for a pair of meets this week. The Panthers host Maine Maritime on Friday (Jan. 24) at 3:00 p.m. before heading to UMass Dartmouth on Saturday (Jan. 25) for a 1:00 p.m. meet.
