PLYMOUTH, N.H.- Two more new head coaches have been named at Plymouth State College, according to Panther athletic director Steve Bamford.
The new women's tennis coach this fall will be Judy Switzer.
Switzer is a veteran skiing instructor and tennis player in the area, having lived in Plymouth for more than 30 years. She has taught skiing at Tenney Mountain for seven years and at Cannon Mountain for 10 years, and has worked on various programs in PSC's Health, Physical Edication and Recreation department. The 1955 graduate of Westbrook College in Maine has long been active with the Gilford Tennis Club and the Waterville Valley Tennis Association.
"We are absolutely delighted to welcome Judy to our coaching staff," said Bamford. "She brings a wealth of tennis knowledge and playing experience to the position. We feel confident that her positive attitude and effective communication style coupled with her knowledge of the game will serve her well in her new position."
"What I'm looking forward to is working with the girls," said Switzer. "I had a chance to work with them briefly a year or two ago, and they were just great gals so I'm really looking forward to this. It's always nice to be involved with Plymouth State. I'm a big fan."
Coach Switzer is married to David Switzer, a professor in the PSC Social Science department, and no relation to PSC's women's swimming and diving coach Alan Switzer.
Switzer becomes women's tennis coach in place of Robin Payne, who coached the team the past two seasons.
