Colby-Sawyer spoils PSU Womens Tennis debut
NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis team swept all three doubles matches and lost just one singles match Thursday afternoon on its way to a 8-1 victory over Plymouth State University in the season opener for both schools.
Senior Alex Hardenbrook (Kennebunk, Maine) led the Chargers, picking up a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles and a 9-8 doubles win with teammate Jennifer Lachance (Killingworth, Conn.) at No. 1 doubles.
Plymouth State sophomore Meghan Rodier (Francestown, N.H.) picked up the only win in for the Panthers, a 6-4, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
The Chargers (1-0) travel to Roger Williams on Sunday to open Commonwealth Coast Conference play (12:00 p.m.) PSU (0-1) plays its home opener Saturday at 12 noon against Endicott. Colby-Sawyer 8, Plymouth State 1
