Knapp wins in both singles and doubles to lead Panthers
MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Plymouth State University women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to NCAA D-II opponent, Saint Anselm's College, 7-2. The Panthers drop to 1-1 on the season while the Hawks improve to 1-0.
Head coach Barbara Rawlsky-Willett was impressed with the competitiveness of her team versus the NCAA D-II opponent. "We held our own on all three double's courts," said Rawlsky-Willett.
The coach also praised freshman Chloe Knapp (Jamestown, N.Y.) for her outstanding performances in both singles and doubles. Knapp earned both points for the Panthers, winning her singles match 6-3, 6-2 and teamed with junior Megan Wheeler (Manchester, N.H.) to win at number two doubles, 8-4.
The Panthers return to action Thursday (Sept. 7), when they travel to future Little East Conference opponent Castleton University for a 4:00 p.m. non-conference match.
