PSU freshman competes at ECAC Women’s Track & Field Championships

Baillergeon represents Panthers with 20th place in shot put

            WESTFIELD, Mass. – A freshman on the Plymouth State University women's track & field team became the first Panther to represent the school at the ECAC Division 3 Championships, hosted by Westfield State University at the Gravel Track.

            Freshman Selena Baillargeon (Saranac Lake, N.Y.) finished in 20th place in the women's shot put out of the 30 competitors who qualified for the event. Baillergeon's best mark was 11.65 meters (38'2.75") on her first attempt; she fouled on her second attempt and recorded a mark of 11.22 meters on her final throw.  Baillergeon placed fourth in the field among first-year throwers.

            The PSU women's track & field program is completing its first year as a varsity program. The Panthers are led by head coach John Ostler and throws coach Angus Fisher.
