PSU Women’s Track & Field honored by USTFCCCA

Panthers named All-Academic Team for third consecutive year

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – For a third consecutive year the Plymouth State University women's track & field program earned All-Academic Team honors, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced today.

Between the indoor and outdoor seasons, the Panthers posted a combined team GPA of 3.21 to earn the recognition. To be honored a program must combine for a cumulative team GPA of at least a 3.10 on a 4.00 scale for all student-athletes who were charged a season of eligibility during the 2018-19 season.

"I'm very proud to work with such a well-rounded group," said fifth-year head coach John Ostler. "This is a big goal for us every year."

Plymouth State was one of 184 women's programs and 297 NCAA Division III teams (men's and women's) to earn the honor. Saint Vincent College's women's program had the best cumulative GPA among women's teams at the DIII level after posting a 3.79. PSU was one of four Little East Conference teams to earn the honor, joined by Rhode Island College, University of Southern Maine and University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

During the indoor season the PSU women established ten new program records while registering a program-best finish at the LEC championships. The outdoor season went even better, as freshman Hannah Wescott (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) captured the LEC title in the 100m hurdles while leading the team to another program-best finish at the conference championships and nine more school records.
