PSC Women's Volleyball player earns LEC Honor

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The Little East Conference has begun naming a Player of the Week in women's volleyball this season, and a Plymouth State College player was selected to the first LEC Weekly Honor Roll.

Junior captain Veronica Mulholland (Billerica, MA) is the first Panther to receive an LEC weekly honor. She led the Panthers last week in their debut under new head coach Moira Long.

A 5'6" outside hitter, Mulholland paced the squad in four matches, averaging 2.07 kills and 1.53 digs per game. She also registered five service aces as PSC captured its first win of the season, a three-game victory over Southern Maine. The Panthers, 1-3, also suffered defeats to Endicott, Keene State and Western Connecticut.

After a road match Wednesday (Sept. 16) at Colby-Sawyer College, PSC travels to Bristol, RI, this Saturday (Sept. 19) to defend its title in the Roger Williams Tournament. In fact, the Panthers have been tournament champions at Roger Williams the past two seasons. The next home match for PSC is Sunday (Sept. 27) at Foley Gymnasium against St. Michael's College (1:00 p.m.).
