PSC Volleyball player earns LEC honor
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - A middle blocker for the Plymouth State College women's volleyball team was selected to the Little East Conference Weekly Honor Roll following PSC's 20th win on Sunday.
Junior Anna Lingelbach (Center Harbor, NH) led the Panthers to a 3-1 record this week. She spiked and blocked her way to receive honorable mention.
Lingelbach turned in a strong week for the Panthers, and it showed. She recorded a total of eight blocks, and 10 digs in four matches. Lingelbach also contributed 28 kills, and one service ace. Plymouth State earned victories over Anna Maria (3-0), Suffolk (3-0), and St. Joseph's (3-0), with the only loss to St. Anselm (0-3). The Panthers are hot, winning eight of their last nine games giving them an overall record of 20-8 under first-year coach Moira Long. It is the third straight season PSC has reached 20 victories.
After a road match Wednesday (Oct.21) at Daniel Webster College (7:00 p.m.), PSC will prepare for the LEC Tournament this coming Friday and Saturday (Oct. 23-24) at UMass Dartmouth. Plymouth State advanced to the finals in '96, but lost in the semi-finals to Western Connecticut in last year's tournament.
Plymouth State's last home match will be played on Thursday (Nov.5) when they host New Hampshire College at 7:00 p.m. at Foley Gymnasium.
