PSC Volleyball finishes season at 22-11
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - After taking a two games to one lead, New Hampshire College stumbled in game four, but came back in the decisive fifth game to take an exciting match over Plymouth State Thursday night, 15-10, 8-15, 15-9, 9-15, 15-10, in women's volleyball at Foley Gymnasium.
New Hampshire College (9-11) received outstanding play from junior middle hitter Jodi Stimson (Milford, CT), who registered 17 kills in the match. Teammate Jennifer Basiliere (Haverhill, MA) led the team with 36 assists.
The Panthers, who forced a rally-point game by winning game four, were led by Jill Langis (Farmington, NH), Margo Imbornone (Westwood, MA), and Veronica Mulholland (Billerica, MA) each recording 18, 12, and 10 kills respectively. Andrea Baretta (Kensington, CT) contributed 44 assists.
Plymouth State honored its lone senior, Margo Imbornone, just prior to the first serve of the match. Imbornone has played for the Panthers volleyball team since it became a varsity sport three years ago. She led the team in kills this season with 260.
The Panthers conclude the season with a 22-11 overall record under first-year coach Moira Long. PSC has a three-year record of 69-24 since becoming a varsity sport in 1996.
