Lingelbach Named To GTE Academic All-District Team

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The starting middle hitter on the Plymouth State College women's volleyball team has been recognized for her academic studies.

Junior Anna Lingelbach (Center Harbor, NH) was named to the 1998 GTE District I Academic All-America Volleyball Second Team (College Divison), as voted by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Lingelbach is the first player in the three-year history of PSC Women's Volleyball to receive such an honor.

A spanish and biology major with a minor in chemistry, Lingelbach is currently maintaining a 3.81 grade point average at Plymouth State. She has made the President's List at PSC twice, in the spring and fall semesters of 1997, and she also made the Dean's List in the spring of 1998.

Lingelbach is a member of the Phi Sigma Iota (International Foreign Language Honor Society). She received the Academic Achievement Award from PSC's Department of Residential Life, and is a two-time recipient of the PSC Scholar-Athlete Award.

Now in her second year on the team, Lingelbach has helped the Panthers to a combined 44-21 overall record in the past two years, including a 22-11 mark in 1998. She has led the team the past two years in total blocks, and owns school records in block solos, block assists and total blocks in a match, season and career.
