Saint Anselm cools off PSC

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- Erica Johnson tallied a match high 14 kills and Melissa Wright added nine to help Saint Anselm cool off red hot Plymouth State, 3-1 Thursday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

The Hawks won the match 15-8, 15-5, 7-15, 15-4, halting the Panthers' six-match win streak. Saint Anselm improved to 18-10 on the season, while Plymouth State moved to 19-10.

Karla Montano dished out 18 assists for the Hawks, while Kristine Howell (Greenville, N.H.) added 18 digs and seven kills.

Plymouth State was paced by a team high 13 kills from Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.), while Carin LaValley (Northfield, N.H.) added 11. Jessie O'Hearn (Tilton, N.H.) dished out 28 assists for PSC, while Stephanie Spiridakis (Belmont, N.H.) also played well, notching 12 digs and three serving aces.

The Panthers conclude the regular season Saturday (Oct. 28) at the Middlebury Invitational before opening the Little East Conference play-offs next Wednesday (Nov. 1) at home against Keene State (6 p.m.)
