LaValley earns top LEC Weekly Honor

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - For the second straight week, one of the co-captains on the Plymouth State College volleyball team was honored by the Little East Conference.

Junior outside hitter Carin LaValley (Northfield, N.H.), who was an Honor Roll selection last week, was named Player of the Week Monday. It is the eighth time in her career that LaValley has received a weekly honor from the Little East Conference.

A 5'6" co-captain, LaValley helped PSC sweep its two LEC matches last Saturday, the only Panther contests of the week. She pounded out 38 kills and a .564 hitting percentage, while contributing 20 digs and five service aces. LaValley led the Panthers in kills, hitting percentage and digs in both three-game sweeps over Keene State and Southern Maine.

For the season, LaValley leads the conference in kills (4.00/game) and ranks fifth in digs (3.35), hitting percentage (.387) and aces (1.15).

Plymouth State, 5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play, returns to action next weekend (Sept. 21-22) at the Amherst Tournament in Amherst, Mass.
