PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The star of the Plymouth State College women's volleyball team is becoming a regular on the Little East Conference list of weekly honorees.
For the third straight week, junior outside hitter Carin LaValley (Northfield, N.H.) has been recognized by the LEC, this week earning selection to the Weekly Honor Roll. A two-time All-LEC first Team pick, LaValley has received an LEC weekly honor 10 times in her career and has been selected to the All-Tournament Team at 10 different tournaments.
LaValley led the Panthers to a 3-3 week, winning its only LEC contest over UMass Boston and earning selection to the Bates Invitational All-Tournament Team. She was one of only six All-Tourney picks in the 12-team tournament. LaValley continues to be one of the top players in the conference, leading the LEC in kills (3.95 per game), ranking third in hitting percentage (.368) and seventh in digs (3.16 per game).
Plymouth State is now 10-6 overall and 3-0 in the conference, one of three unbeaten teams in LEC play. The Panthers face LEC foe UMass Dartmouth Tuesday (Oct. 2) on the road (6:00 p.m.) and then play in the Eastern Connecticut Tournament Friday and Saturday (Oct. 5-6) in Willimantic, Conn.).
