PSC has no trouble with Salem State

SALEM, Mass. - Plymouth State College began the final week of the women's volleyball regular season in winning fashion Tuesday evening with a 3-0 victory (30-14, 30-20, 30-27) over Salem State College.

The victory improves the Panthers to 16-11 overall, while the Vikings drop to 11-10. PSC has not lost to Salem State in four career meetings.

Leading the way for Plymouth State was sophomore middle hitter Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.), who had 13 kills. Sophomores Lindsay Green (Guilford, Conn.) and Kate Shirey (Amherst, N.H.) added six kills apiece, and sophomore Sonia Trudell (Somersworth, N.H.) contributed 12 digs.

The Panthers conclude the regular season with a pair of home matches this weekend. PSC will host Western Connecticut Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Foley Gymnasium in a make-up match, followed by the regular season finale Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against Colby-Sawyer College.

PSC is currently in third place in the LEC, and will likely host a first-round LEC Tournament match next Wednesday (Oct. 31) at Foley Gymnasium. Official pairings will be announced after this weekend's matches.
