PSC drops match to Colby-Sawyer
PLYMOUTH, N.H. -- Colby-Sawyer College ended its women's volleyball regular season on a positive note Sunday, defeating Plymouth State College in four games, 30-22, 30-21, 22-30, 30-28 at Foley Gymnasium.
The Chargers finish the regular season with a record of 12-11, while PSC closes out with a 16-13 mark.
Colby-Sawyer, which also defeated PSC earlier in the season 3-0, was led by seniors Amy Callahan (Rochester, N.H.) and Karen Kotopoulis (Nashua, N.H.) and sophomore Mary Ann Prescott (Laconia, N.H.) who had 15,14, and 10 kills respectively. Kotopoulis added four service aces while senior setter Heather McMahon (Milford, N.H.) chipped in with 33 assists.
Leading the way for PSC was sophomore Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.), who had a match-high 20 kills. Freshman Lisa Lemay (Belmont, N.H.) contributed 22 assists while sophomore Megan O'Connor (Rochester, N.Y.) had 17 digs in the losing cause.
Plymouth State opens this week's Little East Conference Tournament as the fourth seed, and will host fifth-seeded UMass-Boston Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. Colby-Sawyer returns to action on Tuesday in the opening round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Tournament, hosting Eastern Nazarene at 7:00 p.m.
