PSC still unbeaten after win over Colby-Sawyer

PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State College knocked off Colby-Sawyer College in four games Tuesday evening in non-conference women's volleyball action at Foley Gymnasium, 29-31, 30-20, 30-22, 30-24.

The victory keeps the Panthers unbeaten this season at 9-0, while Colby-Sawyer drops to 2-4. This is the best start for PSC in over five years.

Junior Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.) led the Panthers with 18 kills, three services aces and six blocks, while freshman Kelly Landry (Nashua, N.H.) registered with eight kills and no hitting errors on the night. Junior Sonia Trudell (Somersworth, N.H.) led the Panthers with 16 digs.

The Chargers were led by freshman Kathy Couture (Greenfield, MA) with 11 kills, while freshmen Amy Tarte (Meredith, NH) added eight kills. Freshman Danielle Sweeney (Coventry, RI) also contributed 12 digs.

PSC opens the Little East Conference portion of its schedule this weekend in Danbury, Conn. The Panthers will play a round-robin Friday and Saturday with Western Connecticut, Southern Maine and Keene State. Colby-Sawyer returns home to host Middlebury on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
