PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Plymouth State University's volleyball team improved its winning streak to seven Wednesday evening after defeating UMass Boston in three games, 30-17, 30-15, 30-16, at Foley Gymnasium.
The win puts the Panthers at 15-3 overall and 3-1 in the Little East. The Beacons leave with a mark of 1-9 overall and 1-3 in the LEC.
Plymouth State was led by sophomore Kim Krause (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) and seniors Joanna Brothers (Meredith, N.H.), and Kate Shirey (Amherst, N.H.), who combined for 22 kills, with Krause leading the way with eight. Senior captain Sonia Trudell (Somersworth, NH) and sophomore Amanda Bagwell (Riverside, RI) each had seven digs on the night.
The Panthers are back on the road this weekend to play in the Bates Tournament Friday and Saturday. Plymouth won't return home again until Thurs. Oct. 23 for the final regular season match when they host Middlebury.
