LEWISTON, Maine - In a tournament that includes six of the top 15 ranked teams in New England, the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday night in pool play at the Bates College Invitational.

The Panthers, ranked #13 in New England, knocked off #14 Bowdoin in three games in Friday's first round (30-27, 30-23, 30-26), but were upended in the second match in three games by New England's second-ranked squad, MIT (30-14, 30-17, 30-21).
