NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - The Plymouth State University women's volleyball team continued its winning ways Tuesday evening with an easy three-game victory (30-21, 30-16, 30-19) over the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference match.
The Panthers, who have climbed to ranked eighth in this week's New England poll, improved to 18-4 overall and 4-1 in LEC matches and remain tied for second place in the Little East. UMD drops to 2-13 overall and 0-5 in conference play.
Senior Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.) led a balanced Panther offensive attack, registering a team-high nine kills. Senior Joanna Brothers (Meredith, N.H.) and sophomore Kim Krause (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) added six kills apiece. Defensively, sophomore Kelly Landry (Nashua, N.H.) led the Panthers with 13 digs, senior Sonia Trudell (Somersworth, N.H.) added 10 digs, and seniors Carin LaValley (Northfield, N.H.) and Megan O'Connor (Rochester, N.Y.) chipped in with nine digs apiece.
Plymouth State returns to action this Saturday at the Tom Hay Invitational at Springfield College, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
