PSU, which improved to 22-5 on the season, went back and forth with the visiting Panthers until late in the fifth game when it pulled away and clinched a hard fought victory.
Plymouth State middle hitter Becky Landry (Nashua, N.H.), one of six seniors enjoying "Senior Night," led the way 34 kills, breaking her own school record for kills in a match (she had 27 at Rhode Island College two years ago). Sophomore Kelly Landry (Nashua, N.H.) and senior Carin LaValley (Northfield, N.H.) added 15 and 13 kills respectively, while sophomore setter Amanda Bagwell (Riverside, RI) was credited with 65 assists.
In addition to Becky Landry and LaValley, the other Panther seniors making their final regular season appearance at home included Sonia Trudell (Somersworth, N.H.), Kate Shirey (Amherst, N.H.), Megan O'Connor (Rochester, N.Y.), and Joanna Brothers (Meredith, N.H.).
