Brandeis downs PSU Volleyball

WALTHAM, Mass. - In a battle of two of the top-ranked Division III volleyball teams in New England, host Brandeis University swept Plymouth State University in three games (30-16, 30-20, 30-24) Friday night in the opening round of the Judges Classic.

The Judges, who are ranked eighth in New England, improve to 23-10 overall, while Plymouth State, the sixth-ranked squad in N.E., had its five-match winning streak stopped and fall to 25-6.

The tournament continues Saturday, with PSU taking on Eastern Connecticut at 10:00 a.m. and St. Joseph's (Maine) at 1:00 p.m. A Panther victory in either match would establish a new school record for wins in a season.
