PSU Volleyball rolls past Saint Joseph’s

- In a match that lasted less than an hour, the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team had little trouble in knocking off Saint Joseph's College (Maine) in three games Wednesday evening at Foley Gymnasium.

PSU cruised to a 30-7 victory in the opening game.  The Monks gave a valiant effort in the second game but fell short, 30-19, and PSU put the match away with a 30-11 decision in game three.

The victory gives the Panthers their 20th victory of the season (20-8) for the eighth time in the nine years of the program.  Saint Joseph's dropped its fourth straight to fall to 3-12.

Junior Kim Krause (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) led the way for the Panthers with eight kills and six assists.  Juniors Becky Ciulla (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Kelly Landry (Nashua, N.H.) and freshman Kirsten Willoughby (Plymouth, N.H.) contributed six kills apiece.

Junior Stacy Therrien (Rochester, N.H.) was a menace in the serving department for the Panthers, registering a career-high 13 aces.

Plymouth State is idle for a week, returning to action next Wednesday, Oct. 20, with a non-conference match at Middlebury College (6:00 p.m.).
