Panther Volleyball spikes Salem State

PLYMOUTH, N.H.

- The Plymouth State University women's volleyball team cruised to an easy victory over Salem State College Tuesday evening, downing the Vikings in three games, 30-24, 30-19, 30-17, at Foley Gymnasium.

            The Panthers improved their overall record to 22-10, including a 7-1 mark at home.  Salem State dropped to 5-12.

            The tandem of juniors Becky Ciulla (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Kelly Landry (Nashua, N.H.) were the top performers for PSU.  Ciulla had 14 kills with only one error while Landry had 12 kills and just three errors.  Junior Stacy Therrien (Rochester, N.H.) also chipped in with seven kills, and junior Kim Krause (Pound Ridge, N.Y.) led the way defensively with eight digs.

            Plymouth State wraps up the regular season this weekend, participating in the Brandeis Tournament.  PSU will face Gordon (6:00 p.m.) and Brandeis (8:00 p.m.) on Friday, and meet Endicott (12:00 p.m.) and St. Joseph's (2:00 p.m.) on Saturday.

            The Panthers are also gearing up for next week's Little East Conference Tournament.  Third-seeded PSU will host sixth-seeded Keene State in a first-round match at Foley Gymnasium next Wednesday (Nov. 3) at 6:00 p.m.
