PSU Womens Volleyball drops two at Brandeis Judges Classic
WALTHAM, Mass. - The Plymouth State University women's volleyball team was swept by Brandeis University and Endicott College Friday night in a pair of matches in the Brandeis Judges Volleyball Classic at Auerbach Arena.
PSU was defeated by Brandeis 30-24, 30-19, 30-21, and by Endicott 30-18, 30-14, 30-24. The Panthers are now 16-12 overall, while Brandeis is now 15-14 and Endicott, which is ranked 12th in New England, is 21-11.
The Panthers got a solid performance from freshman Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I.) in the loss to Brandeis, as she recorded 10 kills with only two errors. The defense was led by junior Kimmy Tobyne (Bedford, N.H./West), who had 11 digs, and sophomores Regan Bowlen (Portsmouth, N.H.) and Sarah Spears (Meredith, N.H.), who chipped in with 10 digs each.
Badeau came back with a team-high six kills and two aces against Endicott, while Spears led the defense with 13 digs.
PSU wraps up the regular season Saturday with two more matches in the Brandeis Classic, facing Gordon College at 12 noon and Saint Joseph's College (Maine) at 3:00 p.m. Gordon is ranked 14th in New England.
