PSU Womens Volleyball player earns top weekly conference honor
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The starting middle hitter on the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team was recognized Monday with one of the top weekly honors from the Little East Conference.
Sophomore Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I./ Ponaganset) was named LEC Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week. A First Team All-LEC performer last season, this is Badeau's first LEC weekly honor this year as she missed the first two weeks of the season with an injury.
A 6'0" middle hitter, Badeau (right) was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Johnson & Wales Fall Classic over the weekend, leading the Panthers to a 3-1 record and a second-place finish. She reached double figures in kills in all four matches while recording an impressive .439 hitting percentage (54 kills and seven errors in 107 total attempts). She made 17 kills in a win over Johnson & Wales Denver, 13 kills in a triumph over Framingham State, 11 kills in a victory over Wheaton, and 13 in the championship match loss to Johnson & Wales Providence.
Plymouth State is 9-4 overall and tied for second place in the LEC with Western Connecticut, both teams at 2-1 in conference play. The Panthers play a pivotal conference match Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at league-leading Keene State, which is 13-6 overall and 4-0 in the LEC.
