PSU Womens Volleyball player earns All-Conference honor
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - The top hitter and blocker on the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team was honored for her strong play this season when she was voted to the 2008 Little East Conference All-Star Team.
Junior Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I./Ponaganset) was voted to the All-LEC Second Team, the third straight season she has received the honor. The All-Star team is voted on by the league's eight head coaches, and was officially announced at the conclusion of Saturday's LEC Championship match.
A 6'0" middle blocker, Badeau (right) was one of the league leaders in kills (3.84 per game), hitting percentage (.388), blocks (0.96 per game) and service aces (0.45 per game). She was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Plymouth State, Springfield and Bridgewater State tournaments, and was the Most Valuable Player at the Colby Tournament. Last month she became the fifth player in the program's history to record her 1000th kill.
Plymouth State has a 19-14 overall record and is hoping for an ECAC Tournament berth when the field is announced on Monday. The Panthers were the fifth seed in last week's LEC Tournament wand were knocked out in the first round by Western Connecticut.
