Another LEC honor for PSU Volleyball player
PLYMOUTH, N.H. - One of the standouts on the undefeated Plymouth State University women's volleyball team was honored again Monday with one of the top weekly honors from the Little East Conference.
Senior Eliza Badeau (Foster, R.I./Ponaganset) was named LEC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week for the third time in four weeks this season. She helped PSU remain unbeaten (14-0) with three victories last week, including a pair of key LEC triumphs last Saturday at Foley Gymnasium. The Panthers downed Rivier College in a non-conference match on Tuesday and then swept both Western Connecticut State University and the University of Southern Maine in LEC contests on Saturday.
A 6'0" co-captain, Badeau (right) averaged 5.33 kills per game in the three matches with a .545 attack percentage (48-6-77). She led PSU to LEC wins over WestConn by hitting .600 (with 13 kills and one error in 20 attempts) and USM by hitting .667 (with 16 kills and two errors in 21 attempts). Badeau also made 19 kills with a .444 attack percentage in Tuesday's win over Rivier.
A three-time All-LEC Second Team selection, Badeau continues to lead the Little East in hitting percentage (.542) and kills (4.56 per set). She also ranks second in the nation in Division III in hitting percentage and 12th in kills per set.
PSU, which is off to the second-best start in the program's 14-year history, returns to the court this Friday and Saturday at the Johnson & Wales Fall Classic in Providence, R.I.
