SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Plymouth State University women's volleyball team posted 3-1 victories over Roger Williams University and Westfield State University Saturday afternoon, finishing the Springfield College Women's Volleyball Invitational with a 3-1 record and a second-place finish.
PSU used the same style to win both matches on Saturday, winning the opening set, dropping the second, and putting the victory away with wins in sets three and four. The Panthers defeated Roger Williams 25-18, 20-25, 25-23, 25-16, and came back with a 25-19, 20-25, 25-14, 25-20 verdict over Westfield State. The tournament was won by host Springfield, which went 4-0 and made a successful debut under coach Moira Long, who was PSU's coach the past 13 years.
