Dig Pink for PSU Women's Volleyball
I wanted to pass on some information about our team's Dig Pink games on Saturday, 10/29. Dig Pink games have become an increasingly popular way for volleyball teams across the country to come together for a cause that touches many families. In 2011 an estimated 288,000 new cases of breast cancer will be diagnosed among women and approximately 40,000 are expected to die from the disease this year. We want to help. Many of you have probably heard of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader in the fight against breast cancer. The Side-Out Foundation was established in 2004 as an outlet for volleyball players and coaches to help contribute to Susan G. Komen for the Cure and will be sponsoring our Dig Pink games next week.
Here's how you can help: We have set up a team page with the Side-Out Foundation (http://www.side-out.org/application/ous/fundraising_page/46760) where you can make a tax deductible donation online. You can also send a check or money order directly to the Side-Out Foundation (the instructions to do that are included on our team page). Please note if you choose this option you will need to reference Plymouth (NH) State University Volleyball in the memo line, or include a note with your check. Please be sure to include that NH piece in the event there is another Plymouth State out there. We will also have a table at the door for donations. Finally we will be selling pink Plymouth State Volleyball wristbands and t-shirts. All proceeds will go directly to the foundation. Of course, any of you who come to watch the matches that day are encouraged to wear pink to show your support the cause.
Thanks to all of you for your support.
