Two PSU Women’s Volleyball players named All-Little East Conference
Tedeschi earns First Team honors, Perrotta on Second Team
PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Two key players on the Plymouth State University women's volleyball team were recognized Tuesday with selection to the 2013 All-Little East Conference First Team, as voted by the LEC's eight head coaches.
Senior Kaitlyn Tedeschi (Pascoag, R.I./Burrillville) was named to the All-LEC First Team as a middle hitter, and sophomore Kirsten Perrotta (Hudson, N.H./Notre Dame, Mass.) was selected to the Second Team as a setter. They helped the Panthers to a 17-16 record this season and third place in the LEC with a 5-2 mark.
A 5'9" senior, Tedeschi (#10) took over as the team's top hitter this season. She ranked second in the LEC with a .274 attack percentage, and led PSU with 2.31 kills per set. She was also second on the team with 69 blocks.
A 5'8" sophomore, Perrotta (#8) quietly directed a balanced PSU offense. She led the LEC in assists with a total of 971 (8.3 per set), and also contributed 0.49 service aces per set, fifth-best in the conference, and 219 digs, third on the team.
The post-season honors are the first in the careers of both Tedeschi and Perrotta.
