PSU Women’s Volleyball player selected for NEWVA Senior Classic

Wojtas tabbed to compete in Senior All-Star game

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State University senior Brianna Wojtas (Salem, N.H.) was among 34 athletes selected to participate in the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic, as announced by the NEWVA office Thursday.

All participants were selected by a vote of participating member coaches representing NCAA Division III women's volleyball programs throughout New England following a nomination process.

Wojtas was a significant contributor to a Panther team that finished 20-11 and appeared in the Little East Conference (LEC) Championship match for the first time since the 2011 season.  The middle blocker enjoyed a remarkable senior campaign, posting career-highs of 250 kills (second on the team), 2.14 kills/set, a .264 attack percentage (tops among PSU regulars), and a team-best 64 blocks.  She also posted career bests in aces (35) and digs (56).

The two-year captain finished her career with 638 kills, landing just outside the top-10 in program history.  Her 185 career total blocks and 0.52 blocks/set were both good enough for ninth all-time.

The 2016 NEWVA Senior Classic, which is sponsored by Adidas and The Graphic Edge, will take place on Sunday, Dec. 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Tufts University.  Participants will compete in a skills challenge, followed by the Senior All-Star match at 1:00 p.m.
