PSU Men’s Cross Country places 16th at UMass Dartmouth Invitational

Brunnette, Bartlett pace Panthers with top-15 finishes

            NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Sophomores Sam Brunnette (Newport, Vt.) and Warren Bartlett (Loudon, N.H.) posted top-15 finishes among the 242 runners Saturday morning to lead the Plymouth State University men's cross country team at the 44th annual University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Invitational.

            Brunnette finished fifth overall and Bartlett was 15th in the 8,000 meter race. They helped the Panthers finish in 16th place among the 33 competing schools, an improvement of two spots over last year.

* Brunnette finished in a time of 25 minutes, nine seconds, while Bartlett crossed the finish line in 25 minutes, 38 seconds. Both times bettered the previous school record for an 8k race.

* Other scorers for PSU included freshman Noah Byington (Hanscomb AFB, Mass.), 149th in 28:59, sophomore Casey Real (Georgetown, Mass.), 150th in 29:01, and junior Brendan Polichronopoulos (Penacook, N.H.), 154th in 29:07.

* The team's 1-5 average time (27:35) is a school record by :05

* Eight of the 11 Panthers runners had lifetime PRs.
