PSU Women’s Cross Country takes 17th at Westfield State Invitational

Ingram posts top finish for Panthers

            WESTFIELD, Mass – The Plymouth State University women's cross country team finished in 17th place out of 41 teams Saturday morning at the 21st Annual James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State University.

            The race was run on a 6K course, serving as a preview to the New England regionals. Seven Panther runners posted career-best times on a 6K course.

RACE HIGHLIGHTS

* Freshman Molly Ingram (Wolfeboro, N.H.) was Plymouth State's top runner, finishing 78th in 24:23.

* Other scorers for PSU included junior Rileigh Goulette (Saint Albans, Vt.), 97th in 24:39; and sophomores Ashley Bergeron (Berlin, N.H.), 117th in 25:00, Haley Dennis (Coventry, R.I.), 126th in 25:05; and Lora Giguere (Tolland, Conn.), 145 in 25:18.

* Panthers who posted a 6K career-PRs included Goulette, Bergeron, Giguere, and sophomores Danielle Ahern (Chelmsford, Mass.), Courtney Allen (Lewiston, Maine), Jennifer Marcus (Eliot, Maine) and Isabella Mongillo (Hamden, Conn.).

* PSU outscored four teams that previously had finished ahead of them this year .. Endicott, Springfield, Worcester State and Colby-Sawyer.
