Little East Conference releases Spring All-Academic Teams

PSU leads all conference members again; 49 student-athletes recognized

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Little East Conference has released its Spring All-Academic Teams for the 2019 season and Plymouth State University once again had the most student-athletes honored, as 49 members of the men's and women's lacrosse, men's and women's outdoor track & field, baseball and softball teams were among those included.

To earn All-Academic honors a student-athlete must hold at least sophomore standing in the classroom, have a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the previous semester and have been at their current institution for at least one full academic year.

With its 49 honorees, Plymouth State once again set the standard for the conference. Eastern Connecticut State University had the second-most with 46 honorees, while the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth was third with 43. All told, a total of 322 student-athletes earned the distinction.

It marks the third straight season that Plymouth State had the highest number of honorees among conference schools, after topping the league with 49 recipients in the fall and another 29 in the winter. PSU student-athletes accounted for more than 15% of the 830 total students recognized by the LEC for academic success during the 2018-19 academic year.

Among the PSU programs, the women's lacrosse team had the most honorees with an incredible 15 players represented. The softball team had the second most with ten, while men's track & field had eight. Baseball and men's lacrosse each had six student-athletes recognized and the women's track & field team had four.
