PSU Men’s Track & Field finishes second at Winter Classic

Bolden, Brunnette, Bartlett, Rosario lead Panthers with individual wins

            PLYOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State University men's track & field team placed second out of five teams Friday afternoon at the PSU Winter Classic held at the Davis Track.

            Sophomore Isaiah Bolden (Dover, N.H.) led the Panthers with a pair of top-two finishes. He took first place in the long jump with a leap of 6.71 meters (22'0.75"), and finished second in the 60 meter hurdles in 8.85 seconds.

            Sophomores Warren Bartlett (Loudon, N.H.) and Sam Brunnette (Newport, Vt.) and freshman Eric Rosario (Methuen, Mass.) were also individual winners for PSU. Bartlett won the mile run in 4:29.29; Brunnette was the top finisher in the 3,000 meters in 8:53.24; and Rosario took the 400 meters in 52.09 seconds.

* Bolden dropped 0.12 off his best time in the in the hurdles. His second place was one of five runner-up finishes for the Panthers. Freshman Rob Mills (Plymouth, N.H.) was second in the 200 meters in 23.98 seconds; senior Sam Webber (Derry, N.H.) was second in the high jump (1.83m/6'0"); freshman Derek Davies (Londonderry, N.H.) was runner-up in the pole vault (3.85m/12'7.5"); and freshman Alex Van Vliet (Saybrook, Conn.) was second in the triple jump (12.23m/40'1.5").

* Third-place finishers for PSU included Davies in the 400 meters (53.25) and freshman Davin Cross (Manchester, N.H./Memorial) in the 60 meters (7.27).

* PSU also finished runner-up in both relay races. The team of Cross, Rosario, Mills and Bolden were second in the 4x200 meters in 1:35.81, and the group of Bartlett, junior Brendan Polichronopoulos (Penacook, N.H.), freshman Nate Belanger (Newmarket, N.H.) and sophomore Trevor Chappell (Dover, N.H.) finished second in the 4x400 meters (3:42.98). 


* After a break for final exams and the holidays, the Panthers return to action on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Panther Invitational at the Davis Track.
