PSU skier shines at FIS Eastern Cup

Watson wins twice 

            LAKE PLACID, N.Y. – Plymouth State University sophomore Hunter Watson (Ottawa, Ontario) won a pair of races at the first Fédération Internationale de Ski (FIS) Eastern Cup Series slalom races of the season.

            Watson has been on fire, winning two Eastern Cup Series slalom races in two days. The high-level FIS races are being held at Whiteface Mountain, home of the 1980 Winter Olympic alpine events.

            Watson topped a talented field of racers, which included many NCAA Division I athletes. Racing continues Thursday and Friday with giant slalom races.

            PSU's Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) carnival season gets underway Jan. 17-18 with the Harvard Carnival at Waterville Valley Resort.
